Leason Learned

One of the leasons that I learned when I was a kid, but I still don't do it today, is think before you act. When I was young I always did what I wanted to. Well atleast I tried. I never got away with it. One day I was out at my Grandmas playing on the sand hill with my cousin when I cussed at him. I figured I was far enough away from the house that no one could hear. But in just a minute or so my dad was up there giving me spankings. And I didn't think before I said it, I learned to think about what i was saying before I spoke it, real fast.

Comma What?

My father had left our house in the midst of a fight between Lindsey and my mother. My mother was trying to get Lindsey to go with her to the Y to swim. Without thinking, Lindsey had blared, "I'd rather die!" at the top of her lungs. My father watched as my mother froze, then burst fleeing to their bedroom to wail behind the door. He quietly tucked his notebook in his jacket pocket, took the car keys off the hook by the back door, and snuck out.

Satire- a literary work holding up human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn.

Irony- a pretense of ignorance and of willingness to learn form another assumed in order to make the others false conceptions conspicuous by adroit questioning.

Analogy- inference that if wo or more thing agree wit one another in some repsects they will probably agree in others.

Foreshadowing- to represent, indicate, or typify beforehand.

Figurative Language

Figurative- expressing one thing in terms normally denoting another with which it may be regarded asanalogous.

Figure of Speech- a form ofexpression used to convey meaning or heighten effect often by comparing or identifying one thing with another that has a meaning or connotation framiliar to the reader of listener.

Imagery- figurative language

Trope- the use of a word or expression in a figurative sense.

They all have to deal with Figurative Speech.

A Dark Alley on a Rainy Night

As i regained conscientiousness, i remember asking my cousin where we were going. As we turned down the dark alley it started to rain on us. We were heading to the VESTIBULE of the hotel were my mom worked. As we were walking we could see HEADLIGHTS up ahead flicker on and off. We wondered what it was, or what was causing it.
As we got closer, the lights flickered on and off faster, and we noticed some voices. As we listened closely we could hear people talking and it sounded like someone was fighting. We came to the corner were everything was happening. We sat there and watched as some poor little kid was getting beat up by some high school bullies.
Finally my cousin steps out from be hide the corner and yelled, "Hey, you kids leave him alone." One of the bullies stopped and looked at him and said, "oh yeah, what you going to do about it. My cousin popped his knuckles like he always does before we get into a fight. Then my cousin asked him,"Boy are you STUBBORN or are you just stupid?"
The i finally step out from behind the corner and says,"Do we have a problem here boys?" The bullies says,"Yeah." As he charges us with a bat in his hand. As he swings we dodge the bat and as i take the bat away from him, my cousin takes him to the ground. After we get him secured on the ground he starts to talk. He says,"It wasn't me, It wasn't me, my friends made me do it." I say,"don't BLAME it on your friends." I walk over there and help the poor kid and i tell him,"your coming with us."
We slowly let the bullie up and we started to walk back down the ally to my moms work. We got about half way down the ally and we hear and engine start up. It it kept getting louder and louder. Then next thing you know my cousin says," get out of the way!" As he pulls the kid and himself out of harms way. And about the time i noticed what it was. The bullie ran me over in his pickup. And now I'm laying here on the ground waiting for the ambulance to get here. I can hear the faint sound of them in the distance. As i slowly drift back off into unconscientiousness.

Wow! What a gloomy day it is in the Park. I called the boys & girls to our apartment a little earlier. So that we could quickly grab our gloves and play a little baseball in the park today. If you look outside, I seem to think we can get a good game in or at least have a little fun. Then there is a knock on the door. My sister yells, "Some one is at the door." I went and answered it, and it was my tall friend George. I'm really short compared to this guy. He is HUGE; his hand is so big we had to handmake him a leather glove. He came to ask about his glove. But I told him i have already dropped it off at his apartment. He said, " well lets go and see if we can find it." So i yelled to my sis', " were going to his apartment to see if we can find his glove." She just yelled back, "don't take too long." When we stepped into his apartment we found his glove, or what used to be his glove. The dog had chewed it up. Each of us looked at each outher. All I could say was,"sorry man." Well, he said," lets go round up the gang." Lets start at the maddison apartments and get Joe. Then well go to Jills house. And try to find Joe at one of his friends houses.
